臺灣四面環海,氣候潮濕溫熱,適合蚊蟲孳生,因此,以往常受虐疾與登革熱之苦。如何滅蚊、驅蚊是降低上述疾病發生的重要手段,也是增進公共衛生,維護健康的方法。聽聞香葉天竺葵 (Pelargonium Graveolens)、迷迭香 (Rosmarinus Officinalis)、薄荷 (Mentha Spicata)具有良好之驅蚊作用,但欠缺實際之科學證據。本研究以上述三種植物作為研究對象,探討其驅蚊效果。為能實際應用於公共空間,採用戶外樣區作實驗及研究。先長期觀測基地上蚊蟲出現頻率,再利用實驗組及對照組作相關統計分析。放置驅蚊植物與無放置驅蚊植物在燈光誘蚊數量統計上有顯著效果(p<0.05)。但天竺葵、迷迭香、薄荷三種植物在驅蚊能力之統計上並無明顯之差異(p>0.05),此外樣區中有雜草和無雜草生長對於蚊蟲捕捉數量在統計上是有差異性的(p<0.05)。顯示上述三種驅蚊植物確有驅蚊效果,但驅蚊效果差不多。歸納本研究結果顯示除去雜草和栽種驅蚊植物是減少蚊蟲之方法之一,希望能供給環境衛生驅蚊效果之植栽選擇參考。
Taiwan is surrounded by the sea, warm and humid climate, suitable for mosquito breeding, so as to suffer the usual battered disease and dengue fever. Mosquito prevention and extermination may significantly reduce the prevalence rate of diseases above, as well as enhance public health quality. It was said that Pelargonium Graveolens, Rosmarinus Officinalis and Mentha Spicata are effective in mosquito prevention, and therefore this research took these three plants as research subjects, to supplement in practical scientific evidence. To practically apply the research method in public environment, the experiment and research was done in outdoor area. This research observed the appearing frequency of mosquitos in the research region, and further conducted relevant statistical analysis from experiment and control groups. There is significantly difference (p<0.05) in number of mosquitos caught by mosquito zapper between the group placed with mosquito-prevention plants and the control group. However, there is no significantly difference among Pelargonium graveolens, Rosmarinus officinalis and Mentha spicata (p>0.05). Besides, the appearance of weeds also caused statistically significant difference on mosquitos caught (p<0.05) It shows these three plants are effective in mosquito prevention, but there is no significantly different results from each plant. In conclusion, removing weeds and growing mosquito-prevention plant may prevent mosquitos, and the research result is expected to provide as reference in fields of environmental hygiene.
