金門位於台灣及中國大陸兩個政治實體之間，由於特殊的歷史背景、地理位址、文化淵源、政治地位等因素，使得金門民眾在國家認同的民意分布上與台灣地區大相逕庭。本研究兼採「電話訪問調查」及「意見領袖深度訪談」方式來蒐集資料，嘗試透過量、質並重的研究方法，企圖描繪金門地區民眾國家認同與地域認同的輪廓。
本文主要研究目的在於描述金門民眾認同的現況、了解影響金門人民眾「國家認同」與各個變項的相關性，並且試圖找出金門民眾國家認同的影響因素，再者探究金門民眾是否發展出獨特的「地域認同」，並進一步分析影響此地域認同形成的因素為何及可能趨勢。
研究結果顯示，金門民眾具有顯著的群體歸屬感、相對剝奪感與金門地域認同，而此種群體歸屬感、相對剝奪感，不管在量化或質化研究上都發現與其國家認同及地域認同的形成有顯著的關聯。在比較金門與台灣地區1996年至2010年國家認同及統獨立場的趨勢上，發現金門地區近十年民眾統獨立場呈現明顯的變動。至於金門民眾顯著的地域認同是否會形成中央政府必須面對的重要議題上，研究顯示，此地域認同還處於發展階段，還欠缺重要的催化因素，尚不足以挑戰中央政府的權威。

Located between China and Taiwan, Kinmen has long been recognized as having unique historical background, cultural heritage and political status, which are influenced by the two above-mentioned political entities. Accordingly, the national identity among Kimen residents is different sharply from those in Taiwan.
This study aims to provide the profile of both national identity and regional identity among Kinmen residents from data collected by CATI and in-depth interview. In addition, the author plans to explore the factors affecting national identity and regional identity respectively in Kinmen. The potential development of the findings from this study will be discussed as well.
The findings of this study can be summarized as follows: first, either from quantitative or qualitative method shows that the sense of group-affiliation and relative deprivation are significantly associated with both national and regional identity in Kinmen. Second, through the comparison of national identity and reunification-independence stance between Taiwan island and Kinmen from 1996 to 2010, we found that the reunification-independence stance among Kinmen residents has changed a lot. Third, the emerging regional identity needs to be closely observed . As to whether the trend of regional identity will pose a serious threat to the central government in the near future, the findings of this research tend to hold a relatively passive view on this because the catalyst needed has not yet been found.
