日本AV於民國70年代出現在台灣，經過數十年的發展，在台灣社會演進的潮流中扮演了重要的角色，目前已成為台灣最頻繁可見的情色文化來源，其數量之多、流通性之便利，透過有線電視、網路論壇、夜市攤販、AV專賣店等開拓市場通路，提供了日本AV商品分配與流通的高度可能，但目前國內日本AV的論文研究尚付之闕如，故本論文以此為研究對象，從性學的角度來研究日本AV。
本論文的研究方法採質性研究的「影像文本分析」，由於目前市面流通的日本AV數量繁多無法數計，本研究只能做有限的收集，從目前國內唯一專研日本AV的網站「playno.1玩樂達人」中隨機挑選200部AV做分析，透過分析歸納出以下分類(一)性傾向(二)性反應(三)性交射精目標(四)性交體位(五)近親性交(亂倫)(六)性幻想(角色扮演)(七)性強暴(八)性器官與輔助性器官的展露(九)性少數(特殊性癖好、性多樣)(十)性自娛(自慰)(十一)助性器具(十二)女性婚姻狀態(未婚、已婚、喪偶)(十三)性交場景(十四)妊娠前後(十五)群交(十六)其他「性主題」。
從收集分析的研究中，本研究有以下的發現：
1.性主題相當豐富多樣，不同的職業、場景及角色設定，可以反映今日人們性生活的豐富樣貌和多元的開放程度。2.AV女優講求豐滿的乳房是主流，也較能滿足大部分觀賞者的視覺感官，挑動性慾望。3.影片中的每次性交皆有多種體位的使用，且呈現女優一定會達到高潮的性迷思，每部AV的最後，女優都會以性交達到高潮的相關性反應來作收。4.女優採取被動角色居多，徹底展現女人被物化及奴化的東方男尊女卑文化。
日本AV不應被侷限在猥褻品的定義，它們為當前人類的性活動記錄了歷史脈絡，應該賦予其生存的社會地位，未來並可針對特定的性主題做深入的探究。

Japanese adult pornographic films first appeared in Taiwan in the 1980s. After decades of development, they have played an important role in the social evolution of Taiwan, and are the most common source of pornographic culture currently available in Taiwan. The films are widely distributed and circulated through several convenient sources, such as cable television, internet forums, night-market vendors and adult film shops. Yet, there are very few researches on Japanese adult pornographic films in Taiwan. As a result, this study has taken these films as its research subject and tried to analyse Japanese adult pornographic films from the perspective of sexuality.

The methodology of this research is image-text analysis, a qualitative research approach. As there are countless Japanese adult pornographic films circulating in the market, the researcher randomly chose 200 films from playno.1, the only website in Taiwan providing information on Japanese adult pornographic films. After analysing the films, they are divided into the following categories: 1. sexual orientation; 2. sexual reaction; 3. ejaculation targets; 4. sex positions; 5. incest; 6. sexual fantasies (role play); 7. rape; 8. sexual organs; 9. sex minorities (fetish, sexual diversity); 10. masturbation; 11. sexual aid devices; 12. female marital status (unmarried, married, widowed); 13. sex scenes; 14. before and after pregnancy; 15. group sex and 16. others.

After the analysis, the following results were found:
1. The abundant occupations, scenes and role settings reflect the diversity and openness of modern sexuality. 2. Adult pornographic film actresses with ample bosoms are the mainstream, which satisfies most viewers’ visual sense and increases their lust. 3. Different positions are used in every act of sexual intercourse, and a sex myth that actresses will always reach orgasm is presented, as each film always ends with the actress’ sexual reactions related to orgasm through sexual intercourse. 4. Actresses are mostly passive, which reflects the idea of man being superior to woman in Oriental culture, in which woman is objectified and enslaved.

Japanese adult pornographic films should not be seen as obscene articles, as they record the sexual activities of contemporary human beings. They should be given a proper social position. Specific sexual subjects can be further studied in the future.
