安德烈．普列文(André Previn 1929- 2019)是一位成就可觀的指揮、爵士鋼琴手、古典鋼琴家以及作曲家。他從為米高梅電影公司和編排好萊塢配樂開始，在他的整個職業生涯中參與了 50 多部電影的音樂創作。他曾贏得四項奧斯卡金像獎以及十項葛萊美獎項。此外他還曾擔任休斯敦交響樂團、匹茲堡交響樂團、洛杉磯愛樂樂團和奧斯陸愛樂樂團的音樂總監，以及倫敦交響樂團和皇家愛樂樂團的首席指揮。
童妮·莫里森（Toni Morrison 1931-2019），為著名美國作家，因對黑人社會的生活經驗（尤其是女性）的詳細觀察而出名。1988 年，她獲得了普立茲小說獎。進而在 1993 年，她獲得了諾貝爾文學獎的殊榮。
《四首歌給聲樂、大提琴與鋼琴》是安德烈．普利文與童妮．莫里森一起合作的結果，因此非常重要，值得深入研究。
本文共分為九章：第一章緒論描述研究動機、目的、範圍與方法；第二章介紹安德烈．普列文的生平與作曲風格；第三章介紹童妮．摩里森的生平與寫作特色；第四章提供《四首歌給聲樂、大提琴與鋼琴》的釋義、歌詞翻譯；第五章呈現語韻的分析；第六章提出歌詞與旋律的分析；第七章陳述《四首歌給聲樂、大提琴與鋼琴》的架構；第八章是《四首歌給聲樂、大提琴與鋼琴》的詮釋。第九章結論。

André Previn was a highly accomplished conductor, jazz pianist, classical pianist,and composer. He started by arranging and composing Hollywood film scores for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Previn participated in the music for over 50 films during his entire career. He has won four Academy Awards and ten Grammy Awards.In addition,He has acted as the music director of the Houston Symphony Orchestra,the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Oslo Philharmonic, as well as the principal conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Toni Morrison was a significant American writer noted for her observation of the living experience (particularly female) within the black community. In 1988, she received the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Furthermore in 1993, she received the Nobel Prize for Literature in honor.
Four Songs for Soprano, Cello and Piano was the result of the comperation between André Previn and Toni Morrison, therefore it is highly significant and deserves careful research.
The thesis covers nine chapters. The first chapter states the motives purpose range and method of this study. The second chapter introduces André Previn’s life and style composing. The third chapter introduces Toni Morrison’s life and writing characteristics. The fourth chapter translates Four Songs for Soprano, Cello and Piano. The fifth chapter is analysis of articulation. The sixth chapter is analysis of song lyrics and melody. The seventh chapter describes music structure. The eighth chapter interprets Four Songs for Soprano, Cello and Piano and the ninth chapter of conclusion.
