近年來資訊與通訊科技的快速發展，促使個人生活、企業經營及社會發展與資訊科技密不可分，使資訊管理研究的範圍及內容更具有複雜性及動態性。透過理論的觀察研究，可以讓我們了解資訊科技對不同層面的影響，以及其所造成的問題與解決方法，所以理論在資訊管理學域研究中扮演了相當重要的角色。學者梁定澎(2012)認為學術研究的目的是為了建構知識來解釋或了解社會現實中所面臨的各種現象，而知識成果的累積形成了各種形式的理論。因此，隨著資訊管理學域的發展，近來的研究愈來愈重視理論的建構與使用，使資訊管理理論在資訊管理學域研究中扮演了相當重要的角色。
本研究的研究目的在探討與分析2002~2012年間，資訊管理理論在國內期刊論文的應用現況及趨勢，並以卡方檢定分析各資訊管理理論在不同時期、不同學校背景，其理論應用所占比例之結構差異。本研究以梁定澎教授在2012年編著的資訊管理理論一書中，所歸納的23個常見資訊管理理論為探討範圍，並以TSSCI指標以及資訊管理學域之專家學者建議為標準，選出11本管理領域的核心期刊，共計2379篇論文來進行內容分析。
本研究發現資訊管理理論在管理期刊的篇數應用比例上，近五年來是呈現上升的趨勢，其中理論應用篇數比例最高的為資源基礎理論、交易成本理論與科技接受模式理論。政治大學在資訊管理理論應用的研究篇數上掄元，科技接受模式理論是趨勢成長最多的理論，而趨勢成長的資訊管理理論，其成長的原因和科技的使用模式及影響個人使用科技的社會因素，有密切的關聯。本研究之結論，可作為後續研究者選用資訊管理理論時的重要參考。

The rapid development of information and communication technologies over recent years has made information technology (IT) an integral part of people's lives, business operation and social development. It has also made the scope and subjects of information management research more complicate and dynamic. Review and study of theories improve our understanding about IT's influences at various levels, issues resulted from these influences and their solutions. Therefore, theories are very important in information management research. Scholar Liang, Ting-Peng (2012) believes that the purpose of academic research is to construct knowledge for interpreting or understanding phenomenon in social realities while accumulation of knowledge results produces various theories. Therefore, with the development of information management science, recent researches place increasing importance on construction and reference of theories, which play an important part in information management science.
The study aims at discussing and analyzing latest developments and trends in application of information management theories in journal papers in Taiwan. Chi-squared test is also used to examine structural differences in application rate of the theories by periods and school backgrounds. 23 common theories on information management summarized in Information Management Theories by Professor Liang Ting-Peng (2012) are covered in the study. Based on TSSCI indicators and recommendations of experts and scholars in information management science, totally 2,379 papers in 11 core journals in the field of management are selected for content analysis.
The study identifies an upward trend of number of management journal papers in which information management theories are applied over recent five years. The most applied theories are the basic theory on resources, transaction cost theory and technology acceptance model theory. National Chengchi University has the largest number of papers in which information management theories are applied. The technology acceptance model theory has seen the highest growth rate in its application. The increasing application of information management theories is attributable to the close relationship between technology use model and social factors that affect individuals' technology use. Conclusions of the study are valuable for future researchers in selecting information management theories.
