Staccato是小提琴右手技巧中常出現的術語，staccato的音符通常都是簡短有力，和下個音符清楚分離，同時也暗示演奏出輕輕的重音。
本論文題目將staccato定義與小提琴演奏方式的演變定在十八世紀中葉到十九世紀初，主要考量是基於小提琴弓在這個時期的演變扮演關鍵性的角色。例如：弓桿的彎曲度、弓桿和弓毛間的張力、弓的重心等等因素，均會影響到小提琴的聲響和可運用的技巧。
本論文題目時間的範圍定在十八世紀中葉到十九世紀初，以弓演變時期的前後－從巴洛克弓演變到François Tourte的弓－作為時間的架構，藉由文獻上的歸納和整理，來探討小提琴staccato的演變和演奏方式，希望能提供小提琴演奏者在演奏staccato時在表現風格上有所參考的依據。
