探討十九世紀末法國作曲家佛瑞（Gabriel Urbain Fauré, 1845-1924）聯篇歌曲《關閉的花園》作品一〇六，於1914年完成此部作品。採用比利時象徵主義派詩人作家勒貝格 (Charles Van Lerberghe, 1861-1907) 的作品為歌詞，詩詞中使用晦澀的詩意手法及搭配此部整曲不超過十度音程之極端音樂克制的結合表現，創作出後浪漫更接近現代的觀點，使得當時此部作品進入新風格，也因此成為了佛瑞作品中最不被理解且最被忽視和最少表演之作品。

論文內容分成三個層面論述：一、為說明作曲家的藝術生涯和聯篇藝術歌曲之特色。二、此組聯篇歌曲詩人簡介及呈現象徵派詩人之特色。三、《關閉的花園》8首聯篇歌曲的樂曲分析與演唱詮釋。

This thesis seeks to discuss Le jardin clos, Op. 106, a song cycle by the late 19th century French composer Gabriel Urbain Fauré, completed in 1914. Faure used eight poems by a Belgian Symbolist poet Charles Van Lerberghe (1861-1907) as the text for the song cycle. Through the poet’s use of obscure poetic language and techniques, as well as Fauré limiting the singer’s vocal range to a tenth, Faure creates quite radical music with a restrained expression, writing in a late Romantic style that is closer to modernist aesthetics, at the time allowing Le jardin clos to enter a new style, and becoming among the most obscure, neglected, and least performed of his song cycles.

The contents of this research is divided into three parts: (1) to explain the composer's artistic career and the unique characteristics of his song cycles; (2) introduce the poet Charles Van Lerberghe and explain the characteristics of the Symbolist Movement ; and (3) present a comprehensive musical analysis and performer’s interpretation of the 8 mélodies in Le jardin clos, Op. 106.
