雖然浦朗克 (Francis Poulenc, 1899-1963)自幼即開始學習鋼琴，但在父親的反對下，浦朗克從未進入音樂學校就讀。然而，浦朗克的才華並未因此而消逝，在恩師維涅斯 (Ricardo Viñes, 1875-1943) 以及友人的協助下，浦朗克在1921年開始正式地學習作曲。本書面報告首先介紹浦朗克的生平以及作品列表，第二、三章分別探討三首書簡集 (Trios Novelettes) 以及無窮動 (Mouvements Perpétuels) 這兩組作品的曲式、動機以及調性等作曲手法，並加以詮釋。
