二十世紀相當出色的作曲家柯特．懷爾，也是現代音樂劇發展的關鍵人物，創作許多戲劇作品以及百老匯音樂劇，在他的作品中融入爵士樂及酒吧音樂風格，《瑪麗．加蘭特》是傑克．德瓦爾在1931年創作的小說，柯特．懷爾與傑克．德瓦爾聯繫把這本小說改編，在1934年改編於埃貝爾多劇院首演。

本論文研究《瑪麗．加蘭特》創作背景，包含劇作家傑克．德瓦爾、柯特．懷爾的生平介紹與創作風格，並分析《瑪麗．加蘭特》的四首香頌。

Kurt Weill was one of the outstanding composers of the twentieth century, and a key figure in the development of modern forms of musical theatre. He has created many dramatic works and Broadway musicals, and have incorporated jazz and cabaret styles in his works. Marie Galante, a novel written by Jacques Deval in 1931, Weill and Deval, together with adapted Marie Galante and premiered the work at Théâtre Hébertot.

This research discusses the creative background of Marie Galante, including the introduction of both Kurt Weill and Jacques Deval and their playwriting styles, as well as analyzes the four songs of Marie Galante.
