法朗克·布瑞基（Frank Bridge, 1879-1941）為橫跨十九、二十世紀的英國作曲家、小提琴家、指揮家及音樂教育家。一生創作體裁豐富，涵蓋了管弦樂、室內樂、管風琴、鋼琴、合唱與藝術歌曲等，而鋼琴作品共創作36首鋼琴獨奏曲。
　　布瑞基的鋼琴作品形式包括器樂重奏、室內樂以及鋼琴獨奏曲。創作體裁上，布瑞基喜愛組曲的形式，由短小精緻的樂曲所構成一個組曲，並為每首樂曲附上標題，提供演奏者明確的詮釋方向。此外，布瑞基擅長將作品改編成其他器樂版本，《三首素描，作品六十八》的第二首〈迷迭香〉（Rosemary）改編成《迷迭香給小型管弦樂，作品六十八》（Rosemary for Small Orchestra, H.68b）。
　　本論文將探討布瑞基的鋼琴作品《三首素描，作品六十八》（Three Sketches, H. 68）與《童話故事，作品一二八》，共分為六個章節，第一章為研究動機與目的、研究範圍與方法；第二章介紹布瑞基之生平，探討其一生經歷及對後代世人之影響。第三章為布瑞基之鋼琴作品風格與特色。第四章《三首素描，作品六十八》與《童話故事，作品一二八》之創作背景，對於作品本身創作之意義為筆者探討之方向。第五章為兩首作品之樂曲分析與演奏詮釋，筆者將藉由樂曲結構以及創作手法分析兩首作品。第六章為結論，對此兩首作品作總結，以及探討本論文之心得。

Late 19th and 20th century Romantic English composer, violinist and conductor, Frank Bridge (1879-1941), wrote many masterpieces for the orchestral, chamber, organ, piano and voice. Bridge’s compositions including piano were piano solos, chamber music and works with ensemble. Beginning in 1903, he composed mostly thirty six works for the piano. He favored ‘Suite’ form for piano works and often provide clear and distinct title for the performer. In addition, Bridge would transcribe his piano compositions to orchestral versions, as in Rosemary of Three Sketches, H. 68 which was transcribed for small Orchestra.
This thesis focus on his piano works, Three Sketches, H. 68 and A Fairy Tale, H. 128; it has six chapters. Chapter One is the author’s research motive and intentions, methodology and scope of this paper. Chapter Two is an introduction to the biography of Bridge, explored his life experiences and his influences on his compositional student, Benjamin Britten (1913-1976). Chapter Three will discuss Bridge's piano compositional styles and characteristics. Chapter Four includes the background of Bridge’s piano works, Three Sketches, H. 68 and A Fairy Tale, H. 128, and the composer’s specific tittles for his piano works. Chapter Five provides structural analysis and interpretation of the works discussed in this thesis. Finally, chapter Six concludes the author's personal views of the works.
