柯普蘭（Aaron Copland, 1900-1990）是位美國當代著名作曲家、指揮家、教育家及音樂評論家，畢生致力於推動具美國風格的創作作品，為美國音樂推上世界舞台並佔有一席之地，因此被尊稱為「美國作曲家的領導者」。本論文探討作品為《為長笛與鋼琴的二重奏》（Duo for Flute and Piano, 1971），雖為柯普蘭晚期之作，卻融合各時期創作手法，以紀念已故的偉大長笛家金凱德（William Kincaid, 1895-1967）。

本論文分為五章節作為探討：第一章節為緒論，簡述研究動機和目的，並將其說明研究範圍與方法；第二章節為生平與創作作品，探究柯普蘭的生平、創作風格和作品，以及《為長笛與鋼琴的二重奏》之創作背景；第三章節為此曲的樂曲分析，藉由理性的分析其各樂章的創作手法；第四章節則為演奏詮釋，透過前章節的分析，進而提供演奏上的建議；最後為結論。

Aaron Copland (1900-1990) is a well-known contemporary American composer, conductor, educator and music critic. He has devoted his life to promoting American-style creative works, putting American music on the world stage and occupying a place. Therefore, he is honored as "the leader of American composers." The work discussed in this thesis is "Duo for Flute and Piano" (1971). Although it is a late Copland work, it integrates creative techniques from various periods to commemorate the late great flutist William Kincaid (1895-1967).

This thesis is divided into five chapters for discussion: The first chapter is an introduction, briefly describing the research motivation and purpose, and explaining the research scope and methods; the second chapter is the life and creation works, exploring Copland's life and creation The style and work, and the background of the creation of "Duo for Flute and Piano"; Chapter 3 is the analysis of the composition of this piece, by rationally analyzing the creative techniques of each movement; Chapter 4 is the interpretation of performance, through The analysis of the previous chapter, and then provide suggestions on the performance.
