尼可萊・卡普斯汀（Nikolai Kapustin, 1937-2020）為作曲家和鋼琴家，自一九五〇年代便相當活躍於俄羅斯，其作品近年來逐漸受到西方音樂家重視，是當代炙手可熱的爵士風格作曲家。卡普斯汀雖然長年居住於俄羅斯，但卻深受美國爵士樂的影響，他的創作不拘泥於傳統古典音樂創作的限制，他將爵士樂的節奏、元素及精神等加入古典音樂的結構模式中，創作出自己的獨特風格。其中，寫於一九八八年的鋼琴作品《二十四首前奏曲，作品五十三》（Twenty-four Preludes, Op.53, 1988），即為一套融合眾多爵士元素的重要作品。
本篇論文將探討卡普斯汀生平經歷及其作品，並簡述前奏曲曲式之歷史發展及《二十四首前奏曲，作品五十三》（Twenty-four Preludes, Op.53, 1988）之創作背景，並探討選曲中運用之爵士元素。

Nikolai Kapustin (1937-2020) is a composer and pianist who had been active since 1950s in Russia. However, his works have only begun to receive attention in the western public in the last thirty years. Although he spent his whole life in Russia, Kapustin was strongly influenced by American jazz, he incorporated jazz elements, rhythm and style into classical music, thus creating his own compositional style. Among his piano works, the Twenty-Four Preludes, Op.53, which was published in 1988, is a collection of Preludes in jazz style, he uses various jazz elements, thus making it a unique work.
This thesis will focus on the background of Kapustin and the historical development of preludes. Additionally, the author will discuss jazz elements used in selected preludes from Twenty-Four Preludes, Op.53.
