The story in this film recorded the establishment of “Glass Like Baby (Osteogenesis Imperfecta) Angel Chorus” after and before and during establishment , and the training and performance after establishment, and the core member of the chorus left thereafter, and how the group experienced its split, and later, the feeling and self-criticism presented by glass like baby (osteogenesis imperfecta), their family members, and volunteers.
By having through interview and record frame, it showed the comments and viewpoints of professional physicians and volunteers to the influence of singing song on the disables. In addition, learning procedure must overcome the skills such as voicing, breathing, memorizing notation, and the inconvenience of wheelchair action, and also was shown by the frame of real shooting, plus the description made by several protagonists and the self-criticism and expectation of them. In the film, it showed the special chorus voice and vocal solo by glass like baby (osteogenesis imperfecta) and the simple background story of several roles brought by the song of vocal solo.
The shooting of this film had experienced the events being recorded during the period from 2000 to 2003, and supplemented the shooting of character’s interview in 2005, and then modified after interview for diploma degree, and was completed after being added into the viewpoint of director. The original film length was 49 minutes, after being modified, it is more simplified.
After public screening, the general public deems that the topic and the starting point of this film have had positive social meaning and value, the shooting and production procedure are attentive and very earnest, and also can feel the intention behind the works. However, so much considerations and concerns being limited to the objective environment and the parties concerned, it is very regrettable that many valuable shooting contents could not be used. The interview committeemen deem unanimously that if this works was able to throw away the moral restriction as not the creation itself, then the film should have better performance.
Whether the standpoint of the worker for fact film is to look coldly from the side liners or to involve in? When the recording party is the party concerned of the event, then whether such situation is proper, or how to position self in the film ? When, what, or where must be withdrawn ? or it must start from the moral point or consider the creation itself, or finally it will become the bottleneck as unable to break through ? Whether the film must be based on the works itself or the party being shot.
When the final version appears, in fact, only the creator knows most clearly in mind, what is lack in this works. I think, the creation experience in this round has provided the maximum learning experience and value to me.
Osteogenesis imperfecta is a hereditary rare disease of the skeleton in full body is liable to injury or crack, therefore, the height of most of the patients is subject to limitation, or unable to walk, who must rely on wheel chair to move in whole life and was usually called as “Glass Like Baby” .
