布拉姆斯（Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897）為浪漫音樂時期，重要的代表作曲家之一。他對音樂的美與熱情，擁有不同的堅持與觀點，成為至今，許多創作依然蔚為流傳並頻繁演奏的經典。常常，我們會把他與「守舊」連貫起，但他融合浪漫思想，在看似框架的限制下，以精彩且獨特豐厚的情感，走出特有的個人風格，而不是一個大眾潮流下的產物。
本論文希望藉由探討他最後的鋼琴作品《四首鋼琴小品，作品119》，品味他對音樂獨特的美與感受。首先，筆者以作者生平與創作風格時期切入，了解大時代背景與樂曲背景，再者，結合樂曲分析，透過素材動機、和聲發展與架構等，了解整體樂曲發展，最後整合並加入個人觀點成為演奏詮釋。
布拉姆斯的晚期鋼琴作品，更展現精煉內省的特質，傳達出自身的情感共鳴。旋律單純優美而展現孤獨、抑鬱的色彩，和聲織度模糊多變而展現游移不定的特性。音樂內容時而單純親近，時而艱澀難解，但總給觀者留下許多想像空間而使人回味，展現布拉姆斯獨特的音樂語言。

Johannes Brahms（1833-1897）is one of the most eminent composers of the Romantic Period. While we often regard Brahms as a conventional composer who is sticking to tradition, he combines Romanticist ideas into his compositions with traditional framework. As a result, he creates his own unique style rich in emotive elements, a style that veered away from the popular trends of that time. Brahms’ music feature presents his different perception beauty of music. His compositions continue to be widely circulated and performed today.

By analyzing Brahms’ final composition for solo piano Klavierstücke op. 119, this study aims to explore his unique perceptions and feelings about music. In This analysis I began with an overview of Brahms’ life, highlighting major historical and musical influences during his adulthood. Next, I analyzed Klavierstücke op. 119 from three different aspects, the movies of materials, harmonic development and structure. Finally, I integrated my perspectives and the interpretation of Klavierstücke op. 119 for the conclusion.

Currents of life event changed Brahms’ compositional style. As Klavierstücke op. 119 presents Brahms’ late piano works, it reveals very unique style. Klavierstücke op. 119 has shown ambiguity of tonality, conveyed Brahms’ emotional resonance, and tinged with a shade of loneliness and melancholia. Brahms’ music may sound simple and intimate at times, yet deep and unfathomable at other. It leaves people much space for imagination and reflection.
