本文以巴洛克音樂的風格特點做鋪襯，首先概述巴洛克時期歌劇的走向與發展，及巴洛克音樂的特徵與風格，然後研究珀塞爾的生平和創作，查證大文豪維吉爾的生平記錄，比較原著與歌劇的異同。之後探討戴多的形象，採用古今中外著名的女性進行類比，再以數十位世界知名聲樂家的演唱版本做比較，研究戴多宣敘調與詠唱調的演唱方法與技巧。最後，對於戴多的形象詮釋做一總結。

This paper describes the direction and development of the music in the Baroque period, and explores the music style and characteristics of the time. This thesis studies the life and background of Purcell, verifies the biography of the great writer Virgil, and compares the similarities and differences between the original and the opera compositions. Furthermore, it explores the judgement of Dido's image and use the familiar figures to make an analogy. Dozens of famous vocalists from the world are compared to discuss the singing methods and techniques of Dido Recitativo and Aria. Finally, a summary is provided of the interpretation of Dido's image.
