本論文的《憶故人》曲譜，以刊載於1937年出版的《今虞琴刊》為基準，闡述筆者初學《憶故人》，與進入研究所再度學習此首琴曲，兩次研習的不同體會與心得。接著在文獻回顧分為三部分，第一部分曲譜源流以比較分析法，探究歷代與《憶故人》相關的譜本與各家看法，第二部分整理出既有文獻對此首琴曲音樂結構的歸納分析，第三部分則為《憶故人》有聲資料版本的介紹。
本論文的主體分為兩章及結論。第一章關於音樂結構的分析，以彭祉卿所撰《憶故人》曲跋為基礎，切入該曲調式結構的特徵，探討琴曲中音律與吟猱使用的規律；並進一步歸納重覆音型在樂曲中出現的樣態，及其在全曲扮演的作用。論文主文的第二章，先參照兩位代表性琴家的打譜：張子謙與吳景略，再以個人學習古琴的體會，闡述對《憶故人》的詮釋表達。最後總結上述文獻回顧、曲譜分析、打譜參照、詮釋表達的部分，提出結論。

This paper expounds on the differences in experience and perception of Yi Guren (Memorizing Old Friends), based on the Jinyu Qin Journal published in 1937, initially learned and relearned later in graduate school. The literature review is divided into three parts: viewing the origin and evolution of Yi Guren using comparative analysis of past related music scores and reviews, gathering documents that analyzed and organized the musical structure of this piece, and introducing audio sources on different versions of Yi Guren.
The main body consists of two sections and a conclusion. The first chapter, an analysis regarding the musical structure of Yi Guren, commences from its epilogue wrote by Peng Zhi-qing, explores the traits of its mode structure, and discusses the correlation between certain tones and the usage of vibrato techniques “yin” and “nao”; moreover, collating musical figures and investigating their form and occasion of appearing, thus concluding its function throughout the piece. The second chapter first refers to the notated music scores by two representative Qin performers, Zhang Zi-qian and Wu Jing-lue, then the personal interpretation of Yi Guren built on an accumulation of experience in Qin learning. Finally, proposing a conclusion by summarizing the literature review, music score analysis, score reference, interpretation, and expression.
