今年是中華職棒聯盟的三十週年,也是統一獅的三十週年。歷經了三十年,已有多達17支球隊退出職棒,其多半是因為職棒運動太燒錢,加上職棒多次簽賭案,重創台灣棒球,使得經營更加困難,最後不堪虧損而退出。
統一獅是中華職棒唯一一支沒有易主的球隊,雖然一樣每年都是虧損的,但在統一企業集團的持續支持下,堅持走到今天,其永續經營及理念是值得研究的。
本研究將藉由西方文獻及東方孫子兵法五事觀點「道、天、地、將、法」來進行策略分析,其中「道:理念」為企業發展的中心主軸及根基,其將會影響「將:領導」的領導風格或方式,而此一領導上作法又將會進一步擬定出組織的「法:制度」,用以在「組織場域」中進行組織內部員工的管理,另一方面,組織也會受到外在環境因素的影響,包括「天:整體環境」及「地:競爭環境」。因此,當組織以「道」為出發點,擴散至「將」及「法」時,必須同時考量外部「天」及「地」,藉此擬定一個適切且有效的「五事分析策略規劃」來探討統一7-ELEVEn獅隊如何創造永續經營,期望對現有職棒球隊及未來有意願加入中華職棒的新球隊能有一些更具體的幫助。

This year is the 30th anniversary of the Chinese Professional Baseball League, and the 30th anniversary for the Uni-President 7-ELEVEn Professional Baseball Team as well. There have been 17 teams that withdrew from the league in the past 30 years, and that was mainly caused by the high costs of operating a professional baseball team and the game-fixing scandal which traumatized baseball in Taiwan. Those reasons make operating a professional baseball team much harder and eventually enterprises decided to drop out with the team in debt.
The Unilions Baseball Team stands alone as the only team that the ownership has never been transferred. They are losing more than they earn as a baseball team, but the Uni-President Enterprises Corporation's constant support motivates them to keep the team alive until today. Their sustainable management and thoughts are worthy of being investigated seriously.
My research will be based on the scientific documents and the five constant factors of "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu. The five factors are Tao, Heaven, Earth, Commander and Institutions. Tao (Philosophy) is the core and root of business development which affects the style and method of the Commander (Leadership). The Commander (Leadership) will further set up the Institutions (System) to manage the staff and employees of the organization. On the other hand, the organization is also influenced by Heaven (Overall Circumstances ) and Earth (Competition Circumstances ). Therefore the organization must take Heaven (Overall Circumstances)and Earth (Competition Circumstances) into consideration when it starts with Tao (Philosophy) and extends into Commander (Leadership) and Institutions (System) to work out a suitable and effective plan for strategic analysis of their sustainable management. Hopefully, it will benefit the present and future teams that would like to join the league by sharing those ideas.
