班傑明•布瑞頓（Benjamin Britten, 1914-1976）為二十世紀重要英國作曲家之一，其聲樂作品種類繁多，有民歌改編、合唱曲、歌劇、神劇及清唱劇，以及數組聯篇藝術歌曲，創作多且獨具風格。聯篇歌曲《威廉布雷克的歌曲與格言》(Songs and Proverbs of William Blake Op.74)，是為著名男中音費雪迪斯考(Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, 1925-2012)於1965年創作，整組聯篇共14首歌曲，歌
詞選自威廉布雷克三個不同的詩作，由彼得．皮爾斯(Peter Pears, 1910-1986)挑選將詩詞內容具關聯性的作品，串聯成組。詩中內容充滿預言及警世，歌曲串連方式《來自地獄的箴言》做為格言後面承接著一首《經驗之歌》，相互交替，格言7首歌曲七首共14首。本論文蒐集了布瑞頓與威廉布雷克之生平背景與創作風格資料，再針對布瑞頓的《威廉布雷克的歌曲與格言》作詩詞與樂曲的創作背景與分析研究。

Benjamin Britten (1913-1976) was one of the most important English composers in the 20th-century. He accomplished vocal music in many styles, such as folk song arrangements, art songs, chorales, operas, oratorios, cantatas and several song cycles. He was prolific and his works were characteristic. Song cycle “Songs and Proverbs of William Blake, Op.74”, this work creation for famous Baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau in 1965, the whole group a total of 14 articles linked songs, lyrics selected from three different poems of William Blake, by Peter. Pearce (Peter Pears, 1910-1986) with the selection of the content of the poetry association works, series into groups. Full contents of the prophecy and cautionary poem, song series mode "Proverbs of Hell" as the motto behind the undertaking of a "Songs of Experience", alternating with each other, the first maxim seven songs total of 14 seven. This paper collected Breton and William Blake's biography and creative style background information, then poetry and music creative background and analysis for Breton's "William Blake's Songs and motto" make.
