十九、二十世紀之交，是法國音樂產生轉變的新時代，拉威爾 (Maurice Ravel，1875-1937) 正處於這樣的年代中。《庫普蘭之墓》(Le Tombeau de Couperin) 是拉威爾在第一次世界大戰期間，唯一一首為鋼琴所寫的的獨奏曲，由六首小品組成：前奏曲 (Prélude)、賦格 (Fugue)、佛拉納舞曲 (Forlane)、黎高東舞曲 (Rigaudon)、小步舞曲 (Menuet)、觸技曲(Toccata) ，每一首分別題獻給他在戰爭中陣亡的朋友們；而封面的附圖，是拉威爾親自繪製的，這是在他所有作品中絕無僅有的一次，由此更顯示出他對此曲的重視。拉威爾的音樂中，豐富多變的和聲音響，精緻典雅的質感，並融入東方色彩而形成的獨特風格，一直深深吸引筆者，希望藉由此論文主題深入了解相關的時代背景，進而分析探討拉威爾的創作手法及樂曲風格，並且透過鋼琴版本與管弦樂版本的比較，以作為演奏詮釋方面的參考依據，使演奏時能夠更精確貼近作品內涵，有更細膩的表達。

The transitional period between the nineteenth and the twentieth centuries was the new era of transformation in French music. Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) was existing in such era. Le Tombeau de Couperin was the only solo piece that Ravel composed for piano performance during World War I. It consisted of the following six movements: Prélude, Fugue, Forlane, Rigaudon, Menuet, and Toccata. Each of them was dedicated to some sacrificed friends in the war. Ravel made a design for the cover of the score . It was a unique instance to represent how he valued the melody in all of his music compositions. Accompanied with its eastern hue, Ravel's music contained rich and changeful harmony with delicate and classic characters that enchanted the researcher profoundly. Based on the theme topic in the study, the researcher wished to comprehend deeper into related background of the era, and furthermore, to probe into Ravel's composing techniques and music styles. In the comparison between the piano and the orchestral versions, the performance would be conducted to congregate the connotation of the music precisely for more exquisite expressions.
