早期企業多以非正式的組織來管理專案，專案經理的職權非常小，因此專案經理的角色也較不受到重視，大部份的專案工作仍掌握在功能部門主管手中。但最近十餘年來，專案的組織型態逐漸有多樣的變化，許多企業已將專案管理納入正式組織架構，主要是因為舊有的功能性組織已經無法應付日漸複雜的專案活動。為了即時反應客?需求及市場快速變動與新技術的突破，現今已有越來越多的企業改以專案為導向的專案型組織架構來取代傳統功能型組織，藉由整合各個功能團隊，來提昇創新效能，縮短產品開發週期，進而提升專案組織人員關鍵績效指標的效果。專案管理的應用已成為現代企業無可避免的趨勢，而專案經理的角色與職權也越來越受到重視。目前專案管理在臺灣市場的發展，已經從過往的資訊工具應用導向，轉變成為以各產品專案管理的各項流程為中心，因此，專案經理的角色及定位，成為了產品成敗的重要因素。特別是作為臺灣主要產業之一的電子科技業，也多以專案性質的組織架構，來因應產業求新求變的需求。專案經理除了本身的專業流程知識與管理能力之外，很大一部份是在在與專案主要利害關係者及專案成員的合作及溝通協調部份，因此，本研究除了探討專案經理本身的角色之外，也探討專案經理應具備的特質與能力；另，除依專案開發流程結構做詳細說明外，本研究透過手機產品開發的ODM (Original Design Manufacture)實務案例，舉出專案管理的系統化流程，除了說明專案管理的實務工作內容，更透過實際案例，使專案經理的角色及定位能更為明確。本研究之實際案例在探討在手機產品的個別研發階段中，專案經理在組織裡扮演的角色與責任、產品研發流程製定稽核及控管、專案時程控管應用工具及系統、專案經理應具備的態度及專業、及專案經理管理風格所帶來之影響等。並以訪談方式，對高科技產業中參與專案活動之高階經理人為訪談對象。

透過本研究的成果，界定出專案經理在目前電子業中所扮演的角色，包含了協調者，管理者，領導者多重面向，一方面必須配合功能部門或企業組織固有的文化與做事方式，擔任資源衝突時的協調折衝者，另一方面為配合科技產業品牌客戶對產出時程與品質的高度要求，專案經理亦需以領導者與管理者角色來肩負專案成敗的最終責任，本研究結論進一步點明出，專案經理之角色與定位，在現今之科技業中，應透過組織對於專案經理的授權增加，以及由資深專案高階經理來擔任適用於組織的專案流程指導，同時協助指揮跨專案的適當人力資源分配；期許透過本研究，能裨益電子業之專案經理從業人員及業界先進，作為如何有效發揮專案經理一職職能之參考，且為有志於從事專電子業專案經理一職之人士，指引出專案經理應有之明確角色定位。

For response customer request in time, now there are more and more enterprises increase the innovation speed by group power. Projectized　Organization has been replacing traditional functional organization to reduce production development period and let project team members to have better key performance index. Therefore, the role and position of a project manager become a very key factor for product success.
This research will general these following aspects: project manager role and responsibility, project development process audit, edit and control, project schedule control tool and system, the manager and profession that a project manager should have, and the manager style effect in each development stage. Finally, the research will use F Company as a discussion case to verify and help the company project manager to process the project planning and control and execute to achieve the final goals. This research used interview methods to explore the application feasibility of this study.

The research result have shown that project manager have many different role to meet different communication requirement in each projects; the results also suggested that how to made project manager’s role and function could be more clear and better in current organization, wish this research would be the useful reference for project managers, supervisors, and people whom tended to be a project manager in future.
